    30% of the load is nothing because they haul cheap freight & do not pay you for empty miles. I ran 350 miles loaded & 350 miles empty. They are scamming drivers. They just need a steady stream of new hires to stick around a month or two to continue the scam. I stayed 4 weeks and never brought home more than $700. Guaranteed pay is a scam too. It's paid out over a two week period so if you don't qualify one week they penalize you for two weeks, meaning you cannot even get it for 2 weeks. Live load, live unload & stuck in traffic all day with a slow weak truck that goes 25mph up steep grades because it is weak. I barely got 1200 miles a week and they use up your entire clock so you are running hard with nothing to show for it. Expect to be broke if you work here & possibly homeless.

    I wouldn't do it again! and I wouldn't try to recruit drivers to work there, I don't want somebody to come head hunting for me because I talked them into working at Brown, and NOW they can't pay their bills and support their family!

    Good company!! Dispatchers know drivers by name and listen to any concerns drivers may have. Any issues that may arise are dealt with via phone conversation and not via electronic communications. Dispatch wants to resolve issues quickly in order to keep drivers moving, and communication via phone is the preferred method.

    I've been at Brown just over a year, and honestly, i've had a difficult time in trucking so far, only 2 years in, but these folks that work here really pay the drivers a great deal of attention, heck i got a Thank you card in the mail the other day handwritten from the Terminal Manager! Thanking me for the week of challenges and the overall good attitude i had while working with an AH shipper, it took a minute to resolve, but he thanked me for my customer service skills. The Terminal in Raleigh looks out for us Drivers. good company to work for, take care of their own Drivers. Bright spot in my day every day now, just knowing - Someone has got my back. :)

    I have worked for Brown Trucking Company for over 6 years, and it has been the best company I have ever worked at! I know a lot of companies say they have a family environment but then fail to deliver. If you truly care about what you do and want to work at a place that will recognize you for it, you will love Brown!

    Since the beginning, there has been constant issues. First, I'd like to say that you can tell alot about a company and how much they care for their drivers by the hotel they select. The hotel or their choice while in orientation had no AC in the hallways, the elevator button was broken when I checked in, the first room I was assigned to AC was also out and the shower head was broken. The second room room wasn't cleaned whatsoever and the third was was out of order but habitable so I took it. Orientation was ok because I was the only one in the class and the trainer Jim was pretty cool. I only worked for them for almost 2 months and it was the most stressful 2 months I've ever had with a company. To name a few issues: 1)The work was inconsistent which means the pay was too; to be sure that you have work for the day you must call in every morning before starting your day. 2)Some of their customers are rude and disrespectful to their drivers and their isn't anything they can do about it. 3) Trying to get in contact with the office LEXINGTON SOUTH is a nightmare! They barely answer the phones. 4)The truck began to give me issues (it was an older truck when I got it, it started up really rough. I asked for another or for the oil to be changed as a precaution and the shop refused saying that oil changes are only done with pm's. It even had what appeared to be the original bed in it, the driver seat was broken and had burn stains, the dashboard was duck taped and the sun glass holder was entirely missing with paper and duck tape in its place).
