    I always heard the mega carriers treat drivers bad. FedEx custom critical was our learning experience on this. You are nothing and nobody to them. As an owner operator we were charged for every little thing from the E learnings that are mandatory, uniforms, the semi annual inspections that must be completed by 1 of 2 designated shops. The charges will break you as they disregard your questions and terminate your lease for nothing.

    It used to be great but they are hiring new people and the are settling for less than 2$ a mile some even 1.25 a mile. Canceled loads for less than .75 cents dry pay. The only ones making money is FedEx. Everyone else is slaving!!!

    Knowing that many reviews said waiting on freight is real. Well, if you like waiting at trucking stops, and don't blame Covid. I suspect the turnover is very high. FEDEx does not share "their" freight with O/O, you sit and wait on Load Board while they run run run

    Dispatch gives all the good loads to the fleet owners. if u have 1 truck u will starve to death. were a team that has been there almost 9 yrs we are leaving. our pay last week was 440 this week 593. can't pay Bill's on that pay.for the yr was less than 101k going down since they put in the load board. guess u have to pay someone up there to give u a load. They make it sound good in the beginning then it goes down hill.

    I have been an owner operator for FEDEX Custom Critical for 19 years. In the last 10 years they have gone downhill!! Dispatchers are just computer operators, they have almost no knowledge of over the road experiences. Unless U like or sit @ various truck stops stay away!! The only good thing I can say is they do pay fairly competitively, but even that has deteriorated over the last few years. Zero pay for deadheading back to a reasonable location if U happen to take a load out west. Management hasn't a clue as to what is going on with owner operators & really I don't think they care anymore. Company has morphed into a freight broker & they give freight to competitors on a regular basis!!

    I am an independent contractor driving a cargo van for FDCC. My overall rating of 2 stars is predominately because of slow business. Additionally, they place restrictions on drive time and miles that are outside of federal guidelines and limit opportunities for a solo driver. As far as home time, I stay on the road for long periods because when I take time off it seems I'm slow slow getting regular loads again. When it comes to dispatch FDCC is impersonal. They rely on automated phone systems and onboard computers for notifications and when calling in there are often long waits on holds. Recently they've started a chat system which may add to the feeling of being just a truck number. My rate is 80 cents a mile and after 5 years of on time pick up and delivery and 94% availability they haven't increased it 1 penny.

    FedEx Custom Critical - they've changed from good to bad. As a team, we use to do well with Fedex CC - however, all things change when the upper management changes - and so goes the company - corporate always know best - they think. Before all the management changes, we had loads to run, we were paid well, dispatcher were friendly and courtesy - Now we sit almost every weekend, miles are less than 2100 and the negatives just keep adding up - now they want you to run for less than $1.40 most of the times, they hire almost anyone as drivers - so the rates just keep dropping. And, if you don't have a fleet of tractors- well, you aren't special - that means, you don't get the loads with miles or pay...you get the leftovers - and yes this includes teams. I use to recommend Fedex CC - not anymore, it's unfortunate- yes we are currently looking to go elsewhere...
