My experience dealing with Pitt Ohio after one of their drivers, Clifton Donte Milon, struck my parked 2025 Peterbilt 579 on 03/13/2026 has been extremely frustrating and raises serious concerns about how claims are handled. At the scene of the accident, I was provided insurance information that was later discovered to be expired, which caused immediate delays in identifying the correct responsible party. After the accident, I filed a claim with Protective Insurance, and on 03/27/2026 I was informed that they could not provide coverage for the loss because Pitt Ohio’s insurance had lapsed years prior and that Pitt Ohio was self-insured, which significantly delayed the claims process from the beginning. As the claim progressed, the initial appraisal conducted through HEA Appraisal and inspected by Sherri Skeeter contained multiple major discrepancies, including misidentifying my vehicle as a “2025 Peterbilt VNL BASE” instead of a 2025 Peterbilt 579 and listing the color as white when the truck is actually orange. The report also included the statement “we found damage to parts prices,” which raised concerns about the quality and accuracy of the appraisal. The estimate included aftermarket parts that did not reflect the actual condition or value of the vehicle, including parts later associated with Tacoma Parts rather than true OEM, and the initial repair amount presented was approximately $6,779.18 while the actual repair estimate from the repair facility was around $21,700.00. Based on my experience, there was pressure placed on the repair shop to accept the much lower amount despite the significantly higher actual cost of repairs, which delayed the process and prevented timely repair of the vehicle. The appraisal also claimed the vehicle appeared to be drivable and estimated only 3 working days to repair, which did not reflect the actual condition of the truck or the real-world repair timeline involving parts delays and supplements. The handling of the claim by Pitt Ohio representatives, including claims manager Tony (Anthony) Cutuli and adjuster Sarah Gaffey, was difficult, and in my experience communication often came across as argumentative and unprofessional, with extended periods of little to no response even after documentation was submitted. During the process, Sarah Gaffey advised that approximately $15,441.65 had been approved; however, only a payment of approximately $6,779.18 was issued, and only a remittance copy was provided, which added to concerns about transparency and consistency in how the claim was handled. Due to these issues, my truck was out of service for approximately 13 weeks, during which I was unable to generate income while still being responsible for ongoing financial obligations such as lease payments, creating significant financial strain. The repair process ultimately required a supplemental estimate of $5,661.29 after additional damage was identified, further confirming that the original estimate did not reflect the full scope of the damage. Even after submitting a formal settlement demand and providing full documentation, there has still been a lack of timely response. Overall, this experience has involved inaccurate initial information, delays in identifying proper coverage, discrepancies in vehicle identification and damage assessment, undervaluation of repairs, prolonged downtime, and inconsistent communication. For anyone dealing with a commercial claim where time, accuracy, and proper handling are critical, this type of experience can have serious financial consequences. I hope Pitt Ohio improves the accuracy of their appraisals, the handling of claim information, and the responsiveness and accountability of their claims process moving forward.

Don't believe the hype. Doesn't emulate a top workplace by any stretch of the imagination. City operation is based on partiality and favoritism, distribution of stop's amongst driver's is neither fair nor balanced, Seniority doesn't exist here.
