Very unprofessional company, no communication at all the dispatch and planers are disrespectful and do things on purpose to make you sit and wait!!!!! Too much sitting around and waiting they will make you wait 3 plus hours before they send you to an empty trailer. Everytime you call there will be no one to answer the phone for you. They will not protect you or hear you out as a driver do not come here . Please go to Crete CARRIERS . Also fresh out of orientation they will put you in anything my truck had a roach infestation they were everywhere and it was a smokers truck everything was sticky and dirty couldn't even touch the door handle. The people up top will not protect over the dispatch (Desmond and Lisa) also the planners are in on it to they will , make u look as if you're not following orders but the reality is they don't communicate with you.

I was a former employee. I came back to drive for them. They told me I was a refresher but put me down as a Trainee (meaning a new driver), even though they don't hire new drivers. Im was told 7500 miles to refresh as a new trainee. I completed 5000 miles as a refresher (they don't take new trainees) and they routed me back to the terminal. I get there to test and they said no, I needed to complete another 2500 miles (2 weeks more). I refused. I left the company. My trainer was knowledgeable but was not a healthy individual. He couldn't walk 10 steps without having a heart attack. He struggled to get in and out of the truck. He would constantly urinate in a bottle, non stop. He had been in 3 truck accidents, so his paranoia was taxing. One drop, in Milwaukee, he swore up and down I was going to hit a stop sign I replied that he was welcome to take over and drive, to which he was very unprofessional in his response as well as threatening towards me. He spent most of the time on his phone, never mentored any and constantly drove with no seatbelt on. He did not believe in proper hygiene. We went 6 days with no shower and 5 days with no shower. Very disgusting to have to be in a truck with a trainer like that. I called to raise concerns about it, and never heard back from safety or dispatch. The trainer constantly talked about his pay and how much he was making. If you think this is a good place to work, you might want to rethink this company. They don't care.

Everyone's experience is different. But for me starting with PTL directly out of CDL school I could not have chosen a better company to work for. I will have my 5 year anniversary in a couple of months and will be 100% vested in profit sharing. Donna, my fleet manager is the absolute best any driver could ask for. I do extremely well with miles & pay. The first two months were rough but I'm glad I stuck with PTL. It's not all great all the time, but is any company. From my experience the FM's don't micro manage you ,as long as you pick up on time, deliver on time, you don't hear from them. What driver doesn't love that. A company is all about the people, and I find PTL has a lot of great people to work with. Just don't be a jerk and part of the problem, be part of the solution and you will enjoy working here. I'm not the only driver who feels the same way. Like anything else, a positive attitude goes a long way. And if you stay with PTL long enough you become an employee owner and that can't be take away no matter where you go.

This not a good place to work for. I've got around 15 years of driving history. But yet they put me with a mentor that only has a few years and they would belittle me. They got me over to there motel and left me no way getting around nor getting a rental car to get back home. Don't even think about coming here for a job it's not worth the headache nor the stress.

I had a great fleet manager, the only reason I worked there 6 years. Otherwise, unpleasant people in management and support positions who talk down to drivers. Decent miles and equipment.

Worse company ever, little to no communication with dispatch, and when I say ZERO communication I mean it, like 6-8 hours ignored but then they still want you to drive 10 hours after being up at 7 am and waiting till 3 pm for the slightest hint of communication. Also, especially the murray KY location has a "problem" with their phone system where you cannot get ANYONE EVER......EVER......EVER ON THE PHONE, EXCEPT SAFETY/ACCIDENT. I also witnessed a dispatcher literally saying that they penalize drivers with less miles on purpose for invalid eta/pta details, but they never get punished for ignoring and if you say something you WILL be fire, especially in west memphis. Murray is still the worse terminal because they built their shiny new palace out front and the drivers lounge looks like a prison colony. Even if you have proof your dispatch is ignoring you, they will NOT help you, they made it seem like I had a new dispatch, and the next day the fired me, they(the mechanics in west memphis) unplugged my camera for no damn reason, and that is an automatic termination for the driver for tampering with equipment even though I didn't even know those things could unplug or knew it happened till I parked the truck at the same terminal. When I tell PTL is a scum of the earth company, they are beyond your imagination level scum and since I am not longer and employee, I will let everyone I know to stay far away from PTL. Their game is students(people that don't know better) and people who have such messed up dac reports that they got no choice but to be treated like crud by this evil company, then they act like you will get employee stock purchase plan, but will make sure in a year you are gone, and all your contributions will be a nice stock boost that you will never see. This place is like working for a casino where the house always wins and on top of that your the black jack dealer, but they use YOUR money to pay out the other players not the houses pot. Speaking of taking drivers wages they are forced dispatch AND forced route as well, but they never give you a route, and if you go off route they will take your pay at 1.50 per mile out of route as if you are an owner operator or something, then they pay you on a scummy fuel card and you have to the transfer to your bank account to. It pretty fast but once you understand the employee stock purchase plan is literally to avoid taxes, all this shenanigans starts to make more sense. So long story short, please for the love of God stay as far away as possible.
