My experience at Millis Transfer was mixed, but the biggest issue was inconsistent pay due to a lack of miles and excessive downtime. A good week might be around $1,200, but most weeks average $800-$1,000. Trailer maintenance is a concern, as trailers are not always kept in the best condition. However, the trucks themselves are generally well maintained. The issue is that the company often schedules truck maintenance while drivers are out on the road instead of during home time, which can leave drivers waiting several days for service and losing valuable miles. Breakdown pay also doesn't begin until after 24 hours, leaving drivers uncompensated for much of the downtime. Communication from management could also be much better. Overall, the company has room for improvement in driver support, communication, maintenance scheduling, and pay consistency.

Terrible company overall. Trainers just want to collect a check and are very hostile . They treat you like a child labor slave rather than an actual trainee. Miles are terrible you'll be hoping you get 2,000 miles by the end of the week and lucky if you get 2,500 OTR. Drop and hook? Don't count on it, almost every load will be live load/unload to cap your miles unless you've been here a while or beg. They give you BS short loads to avoid layover pay and only pay $30 for short loads so you'll only end up get $50-$60 for the day instead of $125 for layover pay. Current dispatcher has terrible communication skills, she does everything last minute and doesn't properly relay information. Always rushing for an ETA when you haven't picked up the load yet nor is it close to time for delivery. Messaging you while they know you're driving and expecting a response or you to pull over every time the tablet goes off. I haven't had an issue yet with home time maybe because I stay out a month hoping to get more miles. That's about to end since it doesn't matter if you're out 2 weeks or 4, miles won't go up. They have terminals almost everywhere but unless they're heartland , they aren't kept up and clean. They get very rude when asking to be paid for sitting, breakdowns and any other incentive. Lastly they are owned by heartland but it honestly seems like heartland and CFI gets more miles than Millis. They don't have many contracts and don't go a lot of places which limits miles. Only time I have over a 800 mile load is for home time.

been with millis for a year now, I came in right before they took all the bonuses and 401K Match away, I give credit where it's due MILLIS is going to put you in a BRAND NEW TRUCK currently in a 2026 T680 KW they do spoil you with everything that comes in it!!! I'm a OTR Driver, did regional 4 for months when heartland took completely over. DO NOT DO IT very uncomfortable they give you a smaller truck, regional is the biggest scam here the only way to make a real check regional is to stay out a month avg 3800-4,200 a month. if you go home every weekend you'll avg 1700-2000 a month. dispatchers can be a pain they don't care about you, your just a truck number!! I did sit a lot stuck on 3 day loads on the waitlist about my 3rd month in, been running consistently ever since 1 to 2 day loads 400+ mile loads. sometime 1200+ mile loads averaging $1100-$1500 checks at 62cpm. They have there favorites I know I'm one of them because I stay out 1 1/2 to 2 months at a time, straining myself to try and do the impossible, you basically have to kiss ###, don't complain, and beg! the dispatcher run the trucks here not the driver!!! very stressful they have a punishment system if you turn down or are late to loads you will be capped off! They don't think about your rest at all often dispatch you on impossible loads with the expectation of delivering them on time then if you drive almost a full clock straight they try and force you to do a split to be on time even thought they dispatched the load late. routes are very repetitive no joke!!! if you get in good with your dispatch ask if they "need anything or help with a load", also try and drop loads off early and surprise them by doing the impossible I drove 11 hours on a 10hr 40min load an drove without stopping or eating and got rewarding treatment, push yourself to the limits, run through the nights till earlier mornings to be on time, can deal with lack of sleep, sleeping at different times of day/night, and strain yourself you'll survive with a steady 3800-5000 a month. I noticed the shaving on miles has gotten worse since I first started!! HOMETIME is the best thing about the company I take 7 days off every hometime, they don't bother you when your away from truck, only time you hear from them is after the 7th day or when you press ready for dispatch LAST THING great starter company and training program reason I say this because when your done here you'll be a DOG OTR an be able to survive at any company and potentially be the best runner wherever you decide to go after Millis

Run) review below this one says it best. That's just the tip of the iceberg. You do everything you're supposed to do prefectly and make them a lot of money, you'll be punished and stolen from for it. This has been the biggest (Expectations vs reality) I've ever heard of. Since heartland express installed a corrupt theif to steal from hard working drivers it's gone south! Biggest disappointment of my life and I've seen a lot! I'm sure if they trimmed the fat and FIRED THE CRIMINALS hundreds of drivers would be happy to call millis transfer home once again. The criminal they have stealing from hard working drivers explains how heartland express was involved in class action lawsuits for, stealing from hard working drivers. I was optimistic and very excited when I first started with millis. If a company virus or plague that destroys and eats a company from within like cancer had a name it would be heartland express. Instead of learning how to make a profit without stealing from their drivers like millis transfer used to be. Heartland express drags anything they touch down to their level. They have a Godless toxic demon who steals from the drivers now. If you'd like to be a slave to these kind of toxic people who steal from you... join the party! Research heartland express driver reviews, class action lawsuits about labor thieft, not paying drivers for the work they do etc before coming to millis. Because even though there are some good people still here at millis there's nothing they can do! It's heartland now don't be fooled. If you come here don't say you weren't warned! Do your research not on what millis was but on what heartland express IS! Your truck will cut off if the temperature is below 70° outside, you won't be able to run your heater, you won't be able to hardly make coffee, you won't be able to microwave anything. You can't even idle at an intersection at a red light so be ready to pull your emergency brake fast if the truck shuts off of on a hill. Dangerous and pretty sickening when you park next to a trainer that gets special treatment or a heartland express driver. You'll watch their truck run all day and night not shutting off. They'll leave it running while they go in the shop or for 20 minutes. While you struggle to keep your dead batteries in the truck alive long enough to keep from freezing to death or make coffee. Try to run it to charge batteries truck will shut down on you because they set them to cut off. SOME THEY DO NOT! Will update review if this sinking ship recovers and comes back to the Lord again as it once upon a time used to be. ???? God is real! I believe the company is about to witness the biggest mass exodus and evacuation of drivers leaving the world has ever seen. It's just getting worse the more heartland express takes, takes, takes everything they possibly can from it's drivers! Like a parasite! One Jezebel can and will bring a company down. They can't take your freedom and your free speech, they pretend to support our military. You can't steal from them and support them all at the same time! Was the best company to work for now you're just the next victim in the heartland express criminal scam. I appreciate the amazing CDL training program millis has. Mostly I appreciate you showing everyone exactly how bad heartland express screws up a great company by hiring criminals to steal from drivers instead of learning from millis how to build a great American trucking company that attracts Americans, military service members to be part of something great like it used to be. Instead, they're running everyone away as fast as possible. When you first start they ask you what your first impressions are. If you see yourself here 2 years from now. I said 5 stars on everything and that I did see myself here. That all changed when I discovered criminals took over millis transfer. They have teams of people, too many chiefs trying to figure out new ways to steal from the Indians (The drivers).

You cannot make a decent living working for this company. In a 3 month time period with the company I got 2 good checks. I cant live on $500 a week. I don't know any man who can. The loads were basically locals, so I didn't get nearly enough miles. I asked for more miles on a daily basis, but the dispatcher said there weren't any loads. When they took away the salary guarantee, my paychecks got to the point where I could no longer stay. I was going broke quick. I don't know how this company expects drivers to stay when the pay is so low. I have been a truck driver for 30 years. The pay here was the worse I have received in probably 20 years.

Well, where should I start. If you do any research on heartland express driver reviews you'll get it. The only reason they have a 2 star review from company drivers is because they had to give at least 1 star. If they could put 0 stars the rounded off whole number would be 0. They didn't get the name heartless for no reason. To get employees with that rating they bought millis which had an outstanding driver reviews 4-5 stars. You go to millis to get your CDL you'll be trapped in a year contract, you have a high chance of being sent from training to heartland express. Even if you don't you'll be the floormat for heartland express. You'll not be paid half the time you're on duty working for the company. When you do get paid there will be some shady stuff going on with your check. They'll micro manage you to death, to the point it's actually dangerous for a driver tryingto dtive a semi. It's as if they've gotten rid of anyone that has a clue about what's going on. Replaced them with young inexperienced seat warmers with attitudes. Expectations vs reality, once was one of the best companies. Company has been over with the same toxic, degrading, dehumanizing "people" that earned heartland express the name heartless express. It's a trap, it's using the good name of a company that once was amazing and had great reviews to lure it's next victims into what's becoming a crime scene, a criminal organization. What a shame! You'll work for free half the day everyday. They'll tell you to find an empty trailer. Hook to an empty trailer if you're lucky enough to finally find one that's road worthy and can be on the road. Then after you spend an hour or more locating that empty trailer and hooking up to it. They'll say...never mind go hook to this fully loaded trailer 15 miles away on another place. Too bad....that's your problem, zero pay for incontinence and toxic attitudes you'll deal with daily. At least they try to do it all with a smile :)

The Company is owned by Heartland Express. The Regional Texas trucks are almost day cab with very small fridge and limited space plus face inward camera spying you at all times. Management (safety and dispatchers) are micro - macro managing you at all times too. The dispatchers are good, kind and supportive. They have nice Terminal and Mechanical Shop at Alvarado Tx . Trailers and Trucks are kept in more or less in good shape. When you report issues, they do take it very serious.. The Shop personal are very kind and responsive . The Terminal offer free coffee , fruits ( bananas, apples and oranges). They have vending machines, which I do not recommend to be used with credit or debit card. Parking spaces are very tight. The pay is very low and you will rely mainly on the guaranteed weekly pay or the pay protection plan. You get guaranteed home time Saturdays and Sundays. but you will be required once a month to work one weekend. The terminal has its own Diesel Fueling Station and automatic self service truck wash, The terminal is very efficient. Keep records and photos of your truck since the 1st day. Pay attention to all small details as: dents, old air and electric cords, glad-hands , because they will blame you for things that was made or done by previous drivers. Any equipment or other incident will be put in your files as a your accident !!! The Safety Department is the worst you can deal in this company. They will reject any dispute for any objection or reason. They will ignore you. . They're is no way to improve or pay check. When I started here it was decent. Pay wasn't great but it was consistent. The problem is the loads can be few and far between and the constant rule changing is a mess. 5-10 rules changed in less than a years time. Rule book doesn't exist…can't get things done easily, lots of new red tape being placed on everything.
