What is Driver Qualification File software?
A Driver Qualification File (DQF) is the file every motor carrier is required to keep on each CDL driver under 49 CFR §391. It contains the driver application, MVR, medical examiner certificate, road test certificate, safety performance history from previous employers (§391.23), and the annual review of driving record. If a single document expires or goes missing, the carrier fails the audit — even if the driver is performing perfectly.
